Charity Work

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
--Edmund Burke

At Wellen Construction, we realize that building homes is part of building a community. We believe that we have a strong responsibility to the communities we serve. All individuals live in a community, but communities cannot function solely with individuals. We need to give back so that our communities reflect the warmth and caring that lives in our homes.

For Charlie Gadbois, charity truly begins at home. After welcoming a daughter with Down syndrome into the world, Charlie sought out other parents and professionals to learn how to give her a happy and comfortable life.

Through these contacts, Charlie joined the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress. He is a past president of the organization and has served on its board of directors for the past 10 years. Charlie organizes the annual Boston Bruins vs. MDSC All-Stars charity event, which brings Bruin legends and MDSC members together for a two-period exhibition game to raise money for the organization.

Wellen Construction is also proud to support the Marlborough Boys and Girls Club and to provide the annual donation of a treehouse to Bridge Over Troubled Waters. In keeping with their belief that every individual should contribute to a community, Wellen Construction encourages its business partners and clients to give of their time, experience and resources to make a difference in the lives of others.
