Following significant water damage, this Back Bay condo renovation required a full down-to-the-studs rebuild to restore the home safely and properly. The project included overseeing structural renovations and coordinating demolition, framing, systems, and finishes to create a clean, durable residence ready for everyday living and entertaining.
The existing floor plan was reworked, opening up a former galley kitchen into a wider open kitchen and living area, and adjusting ceiling conditions to improve flow and functionality. Partition walls were removed, and the gas fireplace was relocated, allowing the living room to align correctly and support new built-ins installed as part of the renovation. A custom wet bar build-out was added to extend the home’s entertaining capacity.
Throughout the unit, new hardwood flooring, bedroom carpeting, and tile were installed, along with full interior painting. The primary suite renovation included a complete bathroom reconfiguration with a pocket door, relocated shower, added linen storage, and new stone surfaces. Additional stonework was completed at the kitchen and wet bar, alongside new glass, hardware, and finish installations, executed with the coordination and precision required for luxury residential construction in Boston.
This project reflects Wellen Construction’s experience as a Boston-based renovation contractor specializing in complex, high-end urban residences.
